WHO DISCOVERED COLOR BLINDNESS?

  • John Dalton discovered color blindness
  • He discovered it when he noticed that he had it when looking at a flower

CURRENT RESEARCH

  • Researchers from the 2Ai lab created a lense that could help people with color blindness see colors that they
  • are unable to see.
  • Many hospitals are testing out these lenses to help color blind nurses see veins more clearly.
  • The eyewear is also very useful for police and security officers

SYMPTOMS

  • You may not be able to see certain colors
  • In rare cases, you may only be able to see black, white, and grey.
  • You may see a few shades of colors, while others can see hundreds of them

IT ONLY AFFECTS YOUR EYES & BRAIN NOT ANY OTHER PART OF YOUR BODY

HOW DO YOU GET IT?

  • It is inherited from mutations on the X chromosome
  • You can inherit from your parents.
  • Boys have a much greater chance of getting color blindness than girls
  • It is a hereditary condition

TREATMENT

  • There is no known treatment for color blindness
  • They must adapt to the change.

DIAGNOSIS

  • You take a color blind test
  • You look at a set of colored dots and find a pattern in them like a letter or #
