Founders of Rhode Island
Rhode Island was considered a colony in 1636 by Roger Williams.
Although people did find it before it got established as a colony.

Reasons on Finding Rhode Island
Roger Williams went into conflict with the leaders of Massachusetts. They told him. That he can stay in Massachusetts if he stays quiet. He doesn't listen so they put him on a ship and he sailed away. Roger Williams and his family find a Native American village and they stay there. They named it Providence and that was when Rhode Island was established as a colony.

People who lived in Rhode Island

Roger Williams and his family with Native Americans lived in Rhode Island.

Climate and Geography in Rhode Island
In Rhode Island, the winters were colder and the summers were more humid.

Economy
Rhode Island was one of the largest slave trading center colony in the US. They also grew crops and raised livestock to ship them to other places.

Religion
Rhode Island was considered a place of free religion. There were Quakers, Baptists, Anglicans, Puritans, and Congregationalists.
