Public life and success

  • After working different jobs, 1952 sanders franchised his secret recipe "Kentucky Fried Chicken" and started KFC
  • Sanders trademarked the saying "finger licking good" in 1963.
  • The company expanded over 600 locations.

His early life

  • September 9, 1890 / December 16 1980
  • Lived in Henryville, Indiana.
  • With his mothers approval he left to go live with his uncle because him and his step father didn't get along.
  • Lied about his age and joined the army in October 1906
  • Discharged from the army in October

Education and influential person

  • Sanders studied law at La Selle Extension University.
  • One of the most influential persons in his life was pet Hartman, he was a bussiness man who became Sander's first franchise; He helped Sanders to start KFC.

Accomplishments

  • Sanders falsified a birth certificate and joined the army in 1906. he was discharged three months later on completion of his service commitments.
  • He worked as a Blacksmiths help, Lawyer (he earned a law degree) insurance man, etc.
  • His most bigger accomplishment was KFC, that after moving to Corbin Ky in 1930 he started cooking fried chicken, ham, and steak.

Obstacles

  • At the age of 65, after 25 years in the restaurant business colonel sanders was broke. shortly after receiving his first social security check he hit the road looking for restaurant owners to buy the rights to his recipe.
  • He lived in his car for 2 years and was rejected over 1000 times before he found someone who agreed to use his recipe

  • Be Consistent: Nearly 60 yeas old, he would spend days at his restaurant, peddling his chicken, cooking for customers and sleeping in the back of his car.

  • Be committed for a long period of time: Colonel sanders only became successful after failing as lawyer, insurance,tires, and lamp salesman.
  • Have a faith and a burning desire: He borrowed $87 fried up some chicken using his recipe, went door to door to sell, at age 88 colonel sanders was billionaire.
