Project Summary

  • I’m excited to go to college and I think the University of Washington would be the perfect school for me. I was really surprised at how expensive good architecture schools are for tuition and board fees. However, the college I chose has a reasonable tuition and is ranked in the top 100 architecture schools worldwide. I think I would enjoy the location of the University of Washington as well because it is close to the ocean and close to Seattle with beautiful surroundings. I’m really interested in architecture so I think being an architect is a good goal to have for my career. I’m good at math, I am very creative and artistic, and I like designing and using designing software, such as Revit. These are all skills needed to go into architecture, and I think I should take engineering and architecture classes in highschool to develop more skills for the career I chose. It was difficult to find a nice apartment with a rent in my price range, but choosing to have a roommate gave me a bigger variety of options because the costs are split. I think having a roommate would be really fun and make buying essentials and paying for utilities much more affordable. I’m still confused about car payments and loans, and I am nervous for when I have to make the decision of what kind of car to buy, or if I should choose a different form of transportation. The apartment I chose covered most utility costs and already had cable, which would save me money and allow more money to be spent on food or clothes. It surprised me that I had plenty of money left over in my budget even when I planned for an abundance of most items. I think this will help me in the future to prioritize my costs and know what I should be spending on certain things.
