A CLINICAL TRIAL-

• Is a research study using human volunteers, aimed at determining the safety and efficiency of a drug, vaccine, medical device, or behavioral intervention.

• The nhlbi is strongly into research, leading to many advances in medical knowledge and care of asthma.

• New treatments for asthma are tested on individuals who have asthma, to see if treatment is safe and effective for widespread use. (Such as medicines, medical devices, and surgeries)

• You may gain access to new treatments before widely available
• You have the support of a health care team, so your health is closely monitored
• Tests and treatments receive are furthering scientific knowledge over chronic illnesses

EUROPEAN COST OF ASTHMA TREATMENT

• Two different tests will be conducted on people with asthma to attempt to lower the direct costs of asthma treatment.
• The auto-test asthma control test and the GINA's asthma control criteria
• (Conducted by- EU-COAST)

• A clinical trial will be explained in full detail informing you of exactly what treatments will be tested, this is called informed consent. You will be required to sign the form (not contract) and you can withdraw at any time.
