SEASONS

Season Facts:
Earth is closest to the sun in January (winter)
There are seasons because of direst and indirect light.

More Season Facts:
During summer solstice the sun is up for 15 hours and down for 9 hours.
During winter solstice the sun is up for 9 hours and down for 15 hours.

MOON PHASES

Moon Phase Facts:
The moon takes 29 1/2 days (about a month) to go around the earth.
We see different moon phases because the sun hits it and we either see the day side or the night side. We also see different moon phases because the moon goes around the earth.

More Moon Phase Facts:
Half of the moon is always lit up.
When all the sunsets combine they make the moon red creating a lunar eclipse.

SCALE OF UNIVERSE

Pluto
Pluto was changed to a dwarf planet because it's really small compared to other planets.

You see different star constellations at different times of year because the earth rotates.

Favorites...
1. Meteorites are really heavy!
2. Earth's orbit is 1% off of a perfect circle.
3. If there was no sun, all of the planets would go everywhere.

More Favorites
4. If the sun was a black hole all of the planets would stay on their orbit.
5. An astronomical unit(AU) is equal to 93,000,000 miles long.
6. A light year is equal to 39 multiplied by an AU.

THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for the presentation! It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot. Sincerely,
