  • Died on April 12, 1912 at the age of 90 in Glen Echo Maryland
  • She helped identify nearly 13,000 unknown union soldiers
  • She started the American Red Cross
  • Grew up in North Oxford Massachusetts
  • She went out on the battlefield to help wounded soldiers

she went out on the battlefield even though she could get badly injured or even die.
