FORT SUMTER

  • People started attacking arsenals.
  • Fort Sumter was the main target, it was federal arsenals in the south.

BATTLE OF BULL RUN

  • The battle of bull run was the biggest battle of the civil war.
  • This major battle completely destroyed the North's chances of winning.

THE BATTLE OF ANTETAM

  • This battle was the bloodiest battle in a single day.
  • This battle had more deaths than the Mexican and American revolution.
  • Lees northward had been stopped.

BORDER STATES

  • More states started joining the confederacy (4).
  • And some border states joined the decided to stay in the union with Winfield Scott.

COTTON DIPLOMACY

  • The south used cash crops, they maid cotton for a living.

  • This battle took more than 6 weeks.
  • The confederacy starved the union into retreating.
  • The confederacy wait it out and won.
