• states rights is the idea that at state have the right to limit the power
• slavery is another cause of the civil war 
• the economic and social differenes  between the north and south.

• States had the right to limit the power of the federal government
• States rights could be cause of the civil war because they wanted to limited the government power
• So they would not have a lot of power so if the government try to give more tax they couldn't do it because they had little power
