CIVIL CASES

  • The 7Th amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees you the right to sue someone.
  • Though the U.S. Constitution gives everyone a right to have an already of a crime.
  • There is so no such guarantee in civil rights.

FACTS

  • When attorneys help someone for free by donating their time.
  • In a civil suit the person bringing the cases against another party

CRIMINAL CASES

  • The defendant in a criminal case in the person being accused of committing a crime
  • At the U.S. District court level, the government is represented by the U.S. Attorney

FACTS

  • Anyone accused of a federal has a right to be assisted by a Lower for every step of the process
  • In many cases ,the appointed attorney will be form the federal public defenders office

CIVIL VOCAB

  • Civil law suit-is a civil action brought in a court of law in a which a plaintiff
  • Defendant-is primarily used to refer to a lawyer appointed to represent to refer
  • Plaintiff-also know as a claimant or complained is the term used in some jurisdictions
  • Pro bono-for the public good

  • Pro se-is a Latin phrase meaning for oneself or on ones behalf
  • Defendant-is primarily used to refer to a lawyer appointed to represent people
  • Prosecuting attorney-prosecutors are typically lawyers who possess a law degree
