PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Circulatory System

Chris Rola

The blood circulatory system (cardiovascular system) delivers nutrients and oxygen to all cells in the body. It consists of the heart and the blood vessels running through the entire body. The arteries carry blood away from the heart; the veins carry it back to the heart.

The circulatory system is composed of the heart and blood vessels, including arteries, veins, and capillaries.

The lungs is the link between the circulatory system and the respiratory system, allows oxygen from inhaled air transfer to the bloodstream. This oxygen is carried by the blood in your blood vessels to all the cells, tissues, and organs of the body.

The main organ of the circulatory system is the heart.
The Heart is an amazing organ. The heart beats about 3 BILLION times during an average lifetime. It is a muscle about the size of your fist. The heart is located in the center of your chest slightly to the left. Its job is to pump your blood and keep the blood moving throughout your body.

The heart beats around 3,000,000,000 in the average person's life.
Inside a tiny droplet of blood, there are around 5 million red blood cells and up to 7,000 to 25,000 white blood cells. About 8 million blood cells die in the human body every second, and the same number are born each second. Red blood cells may live for about four months circulating throughout the body, feeding the 60 trillion other body cells.
