HEART

• The muscular organ that pumps blood throughout the body

• An upper chamber of the human heart • There are two. One on the left side and one on the right side

• A lower chamber of the human heart •There are two. One on the left side and one on the right side

VALVE

• A structure that allows fluid to flow in only one direction

ARTERY

• A blood vessel that carries oxygen-rich blood AWAY from the heart

AORTA

• A large artery that carries oxygen-rich blood AWAY from the heart to the rest of the body

VEIN

• A blood vessel that transport blood INTO the heart

VENA CAVA

• The main vein leading from the body INTO the heart

CAPILLARY

• A tiny blood vessel that connects arteries and veins
