PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

BY, MADI STEINER HR.6

FUNCTION

  • transports materials from the digestive and respiratory system to the cells.

ARTERIES

  • take blood away from the heart and deliver the blood to all parts of the body- have strong walls to handle the tremendous force produced when the heart pumps.

VEINS

  • carry blood to the heart the walls are thinner than artery walls

CAPILLARIES

  • connect arteries and veins

BLOOD

  • delivers oxygen and other materials around the body and removes carbon dioxide and other wastes from the cells.

RED BLOOD CELLS

  • Transport oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body

HEART

  • pumps oxygen-poor blood to lungs and oxygen rich blood to all parts of the body

Example of specialized cell in the system

  • Red Blood Cell (what does it do?): deliver oxygen around the body
  • Heart Muscle Cell (what does it do?): pushes blood to parts of the body

How this system interacts with another body system? This system works with the respiratory system because we take in air we need in our blood through our mouth and the mouth is part of the respiratory system
