PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Long ago in the town of Nazareth lived a young woman named Mary. She was engaged to a man named Joseph who was a carpenter. All their plans for getting married were going ahead quite smoothly until,one day, an angel appeared to Mary. It was the angel Gabriel, a special messenger from god. He told her that she was going to have a baby. "Don't be afraid Mary", said Gabriel. "God has chosen you out of all the women for this, and he is going to give you a son. You must call him Jesus." "How can I have a child?" asked Mary in astonishment. "I am still unmarried and I haven't been with any man." "The holy spirit will enter you", answered Gabriel. "The power of god will overshadow you. The child himself will be holy, and he will be called the son of god." Mary knelt down before Gabriel and said, "I am god's servant. I will do his will whatever it is." When she looked again the angel had disappeared. It was hard to believe that such an extraordinary thing had really happened. She did have a baby on December 25th, and she named him Jesus.
