Church

Most families attend church on Christmas Morning.

 Fried dumplings, breadfruit ackee and saltfish
A big breakfast is usually had on Christmas morning. This breakfast consists of fried dumplings, fried beadfruit, fried plantains, callaloo and ackee and saltfish.

Fruit Cake

A special cake made with fruits and wine.
A special cake is made with lots of wine, fruits and raisins. This is eaten throughout the day as a snack. It is usually served with a soda or Sorrel drink.

Sorrel

Sorrel is boiled and fermented to make a refreshing drink.
The Sorrel plant is picked, dried then boiled in a big container of water. When it is cooled, it is sweetened with sugar and syrup and left for months to be fermented.

Families enjoy exchanging gifts with loved ones.

Dinner

Roast beef and ham
A big meal is usually served at dinner time. Families usually sit and enjoy traditional rice and beans with roast ham, roast beef or roast chicken. A variety of other dishes are usually served.

Junkanoo

Jamaican 
Junkanoo is a street parade with music, dance and costumes. Families anticipate watching Junkanoos at Christmas time.
