A dynamic in music.
Meaning to play very loud.
Tie
A curved line that connects two notes. Means that you play them as one.
Slur
Is a curved line in music that connects notes and means to play them smoothly
Accent mark
Indicates a louder dynamic in the accented note. Or to accentuate one note
Interval
The difference between two pitches
Quarter note.
A musical note that you hold for 1 beat, which is a 1/4 of a whole note.
Half note
A musical which you hold for 2 beats, which is half of a whole note
Dotted half note
A musical note which you hold for 3 beats.
Eighth note
A musical note which you hold for half a beat.
Whole note
A musical note which you hold for 4 beats.
Quarter rest
A rest in music that equals 1 beat.
Half rest
A rest in music that equals 2 beats.
Whole rest
A rest in music that equals 4 beats.
Piano
A dynamic in music that means to play quietly. Less quiet than pianissimo but quieter that mezzo piano.
Mezzo piano
A dynamic in music that means to play moderately soft.
Mezzo forte
A dynamic in music that means to play moderately loud
Forte
A dynamic in music that means to play loud. Louder than mezzo forte, but quieter than fortissimo.
Crescendo
A term in music, that when shown, means to gradually get louder.
Decrescendo
A term in music that, when shown, means to gradually get softer.
