Nearly 60%of China's ground water is polluted. Along with that, the Yongding, one of China's major rivers, plus 27,000 other
rivers are dried out. The situation in China is worse than the water shortage in California. China's government has created a $80 billion project to build about 2,700 new water ways. In order to do this, China is bring water from the South up to the dry North, by connecting to already existing bodies of water.

Important Info
1.)China is home to 21% of the worlds population
2.)There is only 7% of freshwater supply in China
3.)The government has started to tell people to eat potatoes than their usually diet of rice and wheat which obtains a lot of water
4.)The UN announced that China was enough water for 150 cubic meters of water per person
5.) Along with the announcement of China's water amount, the UN claimed that a water stressed area is anywhere that has anything lower than 1,700 cubic meters of water per person

The south is effected because they have to move out of their homes into the north for the water plan receiving less water than before
The north is already water stressed and now more people are moving into their area spending their water even thinner

The government is the one who enforced the water shortage plan. They are moving people out of the homes or else they would be underwater. The people of China have to deal with this. They are all hoping to get out of the shortage with the plan that the government has created. Some people aren't for the plan though. They believe that the plan is a project space filler and the problem will get worse until China has absolutely no more water.
