why children don't tell #1

  • Too young to put what has happened into words.
  • Are afraid no one will believe them.
  • Feel too ashamed or embarrassed to tell.
  • Believe the abuse is punishment for being "bad"
  • They were threatened by the abuser.

Why children don't tell #2

  • Been abused before.
  • Don't want to get them in trouble
  • Blame themselves
  • They feel helpless
  • They don't know who did it.

main claim

  • Most adults think that children need to tell.
  • Others not because, they feel for the kid.
  • Child abuse is becoming to frequent.
  • Abusers think that they can abuse,
  • And that nothing will happen to them.

I believe that children should tell when they have been hurt and abused, because the person that did it should be punished for their wrong doing.

others think

  • That telling will be to much pain.
  • If they don't want to tell they don't have to.
  • It will put them in more danger.
  • They might get hurt again
