Cherry Park:

THE HUNT FOR MATH AND SCIENCE. By Kor Michael and Grant Tanis.

Untitled Slide

parallel lines

This gate is parallel beacuse the two lines never touch.

Right Angle

This gate has a right angle because it has a 90 degree angle.

Obtuse Angle

These roots are an obtuse angle because the angle is more than 90 degrees.

Acute angle

This angle is acute because it is less than 90 degrees.

Diameter of a circle.

This is a diameter because the line in the middle reaches from one side to another.

Circumference

This is a circumference because it has a perimeter around the whole circle.

Parallelogram

This table is a parallelogram because it has two sets of equal sides.

Rotational Symmetry

This has rotational symmetry because when you turn it, it looks the same.

Linear Symmetry

This cone has linear symmetry because it is the same on both sides.

Rotation

this is an example of rotation because it rotated about 30 degrees.

Animal with a defence structure

This animal has speed and strength to fend off preditors.

Invertebrate with more than four legs

This ant has more than four legs, and it is an invertebrate.

Vertebrate with fur

This dog has fur.

Cloud type Identified

This is a cirrus cloud because its thin and whispy.

Flower/Plant that is a dicot

This honey suckle is a dicot because it has more than four petals.

Seed from Plant

this is a seed because if you plant it, it grows.

Leaf with thick cuticle

This leaf has a thick cuticle because it has thickness.

Simple Machine Identified in Everyday object

This is a screw in a table.

Flower Reproductive Structures

You can see the Pistil on the end of this plant.

Kinetic Energy

This car is moving, therefore, is using kinetic energy.

Things we learned.

  • That math and science is in everyday nature.
  • That teamwork is needed.
  • That you can learn through everyday things.
