ORIGIN OF THE TRIBE

  • One out of five Native Amercians who settled in American southeast.
  • Tribes came from Iroguoian descent.
  • Originally been from the great lakes but than setttled closer to the east cost.
  • Cherokee Indians supported the British soliders, even took place in several battles.

LOCATION

  • The Cherokees are original from residents of the American Southeast region.
  • They also include georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Ketucky and Tennessee.

LIFESTYLE & UNIGUE SKILLS

  • The summer homes made from completely logs.
  • Beaver & otter of buffalo skins where made as blankets to keep warm.
  • Fishing and hunting where the main occupation of the Cherokee man.
  • Women had all of the house work such as: cleaning and cooking etc..

Beginning in the 1800s the Cherokee Tribes started to adopt to the culture the white men had brought to them.
