Animal

The first research we will show is the animal and its body parts

The eyes

The cheetah uses its eyes to spot prey and chase it with out losing it

The eyes have the ability to see in the dark

THE TAIL

THE CHEETAHS TAIL HELPS IT BALANCE IN VERY INTENSE CHASES

THEY ALSO USE IT TO SHOW DOMINANCE AGAINST FOES

The spinal cord

The cheetah uses the spinal cord to run fast

The spinal chord bends to propel the cheetah at almost 60mph

The Jaws

The cheetah has canine teeth to rip the flesh off of animals and eat it

The jaws have a tight grip to suffocate prey after catching it

The lungs

Cheetahs have deep chest and bigger lungs for taking in more oxygen during the chase

They also have bigger nostrils to take in more air and bigger hearts to pump more blood in to its body

Habitat

This research is about were the cheetah lives, it's prey, and its predators

The cheetah lives in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania

It's prey consists of warthogs, gazelles, rabbits, porcupines, antelope, and ostriches

It predators are Lions and Jaguars.

They will kill the cheetah and steal its prey

The cheetah usually avoids trouble

Female cheetahs live alone exept when they are raising their cubs

But male cheetahs live in small groups called coalitions with 2-3 cheetahs

There are more cheetahs in captivity then in the wild

There are people killing cheetahs because of their pelts

People are also destroying their habitat for modern day constructions

Any questions?
