LEVERS

  • Is a bar that is free to pivot or turn about a fixed point
  • The fix point on the lever is called the fulcrum
  • The distance from the fulcrum to where the effort force is applied is called the effort arm
  • The differences are based upon the positions of the effort force, resistance force, and fulcrum

PULLEYS

  • A cable attached to the elevator is wrapped around a pulley allowing the elevator to be raised and lowered
  • A pulley is a grooved wheel with a rope chain or cable running along the groove
  • A fixed pulley is a modified first class lever
  • The axle of the pulley acts as the fulcrum

WHEEL AXLE

  • Is a machine consisting of two wheels of different sizes that rotate together
  • They are on car, trucks, and tactors
  • They have a hard wheel base called an Axle

INCLINED PLANE

  • Is a ramp or slanted like plane
  • Helps with lifting or going up thing in a wheelchair
  • For fun some people skateboard

SCREW

  • Is an inclined plane screw in an upward spiral
  • As you turn the screw it threads through the hole
  • Is also used to fixs stuff

  • Are things that that u stick in to doors or wood
  • Wedges help with spaceing
  • They are fun to work with
