THE GAS LAW WAS 1ST DISCOVERED IN

1802

The Gas Law States:

If a given quantity of gas is held at a constant pressure, the volume is directly proportional to the absolute temperature.

How the gas may be used in daily life.

•A football inflated inside & then taken outdoors on a winter day shrinks slightly.

•A turkey syringe thermometer pops out when the turkey is done.(the volume in the plunger increases when the temperature rises .

Example
• A gas is collected and found to fill 2.85L at 25.0 deg Celsius, what will its volume be at standard temperature?
