TOOL PROJECT

DAY 1

  • Bought needed materials (1 hour)
  • Soaked wood all day
  • Dried/shaped over night

DAY 2

  • Shaped wood placed on 3 and a 1/2 by 4 and 1/2 piece of wood.
  • Traced and cut out for the base
  • Punctured with drill and twined with copper wire
  • The metal trim was leather twined (45 minutes)

DAY 2 CONTINUED

  • Wheels traced and cut. Took out pieces to make spokes. (Cut with razor knife) (40 minutes)
  • Filed down with nail file and placed on axel (15 minutes)

DAY 3

  • Axel cut smaller and filed down with nail file (few minutes)
  • Soaked wood in room temperature water to make the D-Frame by bending it (supports the chariot) (around an hour)
  • It was then tied with copper wire
  • Wheels where then coated with charcoal sticks and iron trim drilled on chariot. (around 15 minutes)

DAY 4

  • D-frame fastened onto axel by twining
  • Chariot fastened to D-frame by twining as well (both took about an hour and a half)
  • Crushed a pomegranate, making the paint. Used paint brush to coat. (Added numerous coat and took a few hours)

DAY 5

  • Final touch ups/check
  • Yoke was then soaked and bent, attached to the bottom with twine (soaked the night before and then secured shape over the day/night)
