CULTURE REGION
A cultural region or cultural sphere refers to the aspects of culture associated with an ethnolinguistic group and the territory it inhabits.
"The culture region of the Middle East is very diverse and different from the United States."

FUNCTIONAL REGION
A functional region can be defined as a region that retains specific characteristics within a given geographical area.
"New York is a functional region."

PERCEPTUAL REGION
Perceptual regions are constructs that reflect human feelings and attitudes about areas and are therefore shared, subjective images of places.
"People have a bad idea of Detroit because of what they have head. Detroit is a perceptual region."
