Culture

  • The behaviors and beliefs characteristic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group

Animism

  • The belief in a supernatural power that organizes and animates the material universe.
  • ¨Today we pride ourselves for having shaken off such primitive animism.¨

Hinduism

  • tThe oldest and most widely practiced religion and cultural tradition in India.
  • ¨Hinduism is the divine history, the true path of God, and the creation of the earth.¨

Buddhism

  • a religion and teachings of the Buddha, founded in India in the sixth century.
  • Buddha was the founder of Buddhism.

Judaism

  • Judaism is defined as the Jewish religion and Jewish way of life.
  • ¨Judaism is the religion that Moses practiced.¨

Christianity

  • The religion and followers that believe in the teachings of Jesus.

Sikhism

  • Sikhism rejects caste distinctions, idolatry, and asceticism and is characterized by belief in a cycle of reincarnation
  • Humans can free themselves by believing in Sikhism (never die)

Urban

Rural

  • Beliefs or people from many different countries and cultural backgrounds.

Roles

  • A function or position
  • My role as a volleyball player is to hit the ball.

SOCIAL CLASS

  • people having the same social or economical status in society e. g. upper class and lower class.
  • The Queen's social class is much higher than a peasants.

Social Mobility

  • Social mobility is the movement of individuals or groups in social standing social position.
  • "Education is a great motor for social mobility"
