Elements
An element is a pure substance that cannot be separated by physical or chemical changes. A pure substance is a substance where its particles are identical.

Metals, Nonmetals, and Metalloids
Metals are substances that are shiny and conduct heat and electricity well. Nonmetals can't conduct heat and electricity well (Sulfur). Metalloids have the properties of metals and nonmetals (Boron).

Compounds
A pure substance that's composed of two or more elements that are chemically combined. An example of a compound is table salt(combination of sodium and chlorine.

Mixture
A mixture is a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined. An example is toppings on a pizza.

Solutions
A solution is a homogenous mixture that appears to be a single substance. Solutions are made up of solutes and solvents.
The solute is the substance that is dissolved and the solvent is the substance where the solute is dissolved. (salt+water=salt water)

Concentration
Concentration is the measure of how much solute is dissolved in a solvent. It is expressed in grams of solute per milliliters of solvent. (g/mL)

Solubility
Solubility is the ability of a substance to dissolve in another substance at a certain tempurature.
