R is for rumble. The greasers and the Socs got into a rumble over Bobs death. After Johnny killed Bob the Socs wouldn't leave the greasers alone. The greasers had ditto protect their territory and their people so the greasers had to challenge the Socs or they would be beat up for the rest of their lives.

S is for suicide. When Johnny died Dally got very mad and got in trouble with the cops. Once the cops caught him they shot him. Dally wanted this. He was depressed because the only thing in his life that he cared about was Johnny and now Johnny was gone.

T is for territory. The greasers and the Socs have their own territories. When the Socs start intruding onto land that isn't theirs the greasers get upset and then the real fight starts. If the Socs hadn't intruded on land that wasn't theirs bob wouldn't have died, Johnny wouldn't have died, and nobody would have gotten hurt.
U is for unity. Ponyboy and randy both wanted unity among the greasers and the Socs. They wanted everyone to be equal. If they were treated equally there wouldn't have been a fight and nobody would have gotten hurt.

V is for violence. The greasers and the Socs were always getting in fights. They always had something to fight about. Everything was violent and most of the people wanted everyone to be equal rather than there to be fights.

W is for wanted. Dally was wanted for robbing a store. The night he died he was wanted, cops blaring their sirens behind him. Dally died because the only thing in his life the the cares about, Johnny, was dead. Dally needed to die.

X is for xenophobia. That means that there is a fear or scorn of foreign things. The Socs are foreign to the greasers. The greasers are sometimes afraid of the Socs and they get frightened or mad when they are around.

Y is for young. The men who died and all those who were involved in the rumble were all young men. They all deserved better for their lives. They were young people who forgot how to see the good in the world.
