  • Chastity:the virtue of ordering sexual pleasures according to the 6th and 9th Commandments
  • Celibacy:abstention from sexual relations
  • Impurity: the sexual pleasure in thought or action that is against the 6th and 9th Commandments
  • " So God created mankind in his own image,in the image of God he created them;male and female

WHAT DOES THE 6TH COMMANDMENT REQUIRE?

  • This commandment says that we are to have respects for ourselves and for others.
  • We are required to use the Sixth Commandment to giude our actions.
  • Protecting our purity is another requirement of the Sixth Commandment.
  • "God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it."

WHAT DOES THE 6TH COMMANDMENT FORBID?

  • Impurity is against the sixth commandment.
  • Having indecent books, video games, etc. are against the 6th Commandment.
  • Using our sexual powers in the wrong way is also forbidden by the 6th Commandment.
  • "You shall not commit adultry." Ex. 20:14

WHAT DOES THE 9TH COMMANDMENT REQUIRE?

  • We are required to have respect for those in married life and the family.
  • We are called to cooperate with God's plan that he has for us.
  • Human shouldn't be envious of what our neighbors have, we should be happy.
  • You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female
  • servant,his ox or donkey,or anything that belongs to your neighbor." Ex. 20:17

WHAT DOES THE 9TH COMMANDMENT FORBID?

  • Impurity is against the Ninth Commandment.
  • This commandment forbids us from having bad thoughts or desires.
  • The 9th Commandment forbids us from being unchaste.
  • "but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep
  • my commandments." Ex. 20:6
