* Cesium was discovered by Robert Wilhelm Bunsen and Gustav Robert Kirchhoff, German chemists, in 1860
*They found the element using a method of analysis they had just invented: spectroscopy.
*The abundance of cesium in the Earth's crust has been estimated at about 1 to 3 parts per million.
