He used this for the living that entered and the dead that tried to leave.this image represents what someone interpritated Cerberus with his mane and 3 heads.
His main story is Thracian singer
Orpheus was married to a nymph Eurydice who was bitten by a snake and died.
Orpheus no longer sang or did what he is known for. In grief he takes her to hades in hopes he will save her, Cerberus
abandoned his position to let them through, he simple lays down, after Orpheus plays him a song.
In another Hercules tries to take Cerberus to the world to protect a gate for the gods, with no weapons he took Cerberus out of position. Cerberus made his way back to hades. This was herculeses last labor. He had 12.this image is Hercules fighting off Cerberus.
While Cerberus is a cold blooded killer to all who passes he has been bribed by many. He in, attempt to attack let a group pass just for a honey cake. He plays in the snow after being told by hades that each drop was a soul, so he tried to crush them. Therefore he does not seemed to be easily bribed he is a strange part in many stories, most of them he does not Attack but his character explains him as a dog of hades, and hades being stone cold and a deceiver you would not expect his dog to be.
LIFE OF CERBERUS
- Born in Ancient Greece
- Offspring of typhon and echidna
- 3 heads a snake tail and a mane of snakes and lion claws.
- Best known in the 12th and final labor of Hercules.
- Represents fear as even gods are scared of it.
- Cerberus is not a main character in all his stories but he represents an obsticle for the gods in the story
I think that Greek mythology is their purely to fill in the blanks science could not provide in the time that the stories were made, and the stories passed down for entertainment.
