1080 Facts

Yellow Hat

• Kills pests such as possums, stoats and rats.
• Protects native birds from pests
• Helps cattle live longer, since the possums are being killed. Possums carry TB, which is deadly for cows.
• 1080 doesn't harm humans
• Easy to spot the pellets

Black Hat

• Can kill non-targeted animals, such as cats, dogs, hedgehogs and deer.
• Has lots of harmful effects to mammals if they eat it, such as nausea and vomiting.
• Pests can live for 2 days before they die, if they eat the 1080.

Red Hat

• I think 1080 is good, because it kills pests and saves lots of animals. Cows can get TB if they eat or sniff possums dropping, but since there is more 1080, possums are dying more quickly.
