Individual's with Disabilities Act 1975
Ensures all children with disabilities are entitled to a free, appropriate public education.
Schools are required to allow evaluations to be done and IEP's be made, and if possible students be in a "typical" classroom.
For teachers it means looking for deficits that may need help beyond us.

Title IX 1972 Revised 1998
If receiving federal financial assistance, one is not allowed to exclude, discriminate, or deny participation to anyone, based on sex.
For teachers, it means treating all students equally no matter what gender.
Schools are to not discriminate on any one person based on their sex.
4.
Jacob Javits GT Students Education Act (1988)
It was created to produce programs that implement various activities to enhance and build the ability of GT students.
It is made to for the races and socioeconomic students wh0 suffer from a wider learning gap.
It allows the teachers to not place limits on their students.
5.
Title I (1965)
Makes certain that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality of education.
It challenges the schools to higher state academic achievement standards and assessments, as well as teacher prep.
For teachers this means that we offer our best educational techniques to all.

Sec 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (1973-74)
Protects the rights of the individuals with disabilities in programs and activities.
Schools have to provide free, appropriate public education to each qualified student with a disability.
For teachers, this means to teach each student in your class, never deny chances based on their learning disabilities.
7.
Lau v. Nichols (1974)
Created for students of language minorities.
School districts must take steps to rectify the language deficiency. Programs should be designed to meet skills ASAP.
Teachers, this means giving opportunities for your students to learn english and understand the assignment.
