Popular crime shows like CIS have brought increased attention to the field of forensic science; part of being a forensic science technician is working in a lab to examine weapons, bloodstains, fibers, etc.
Qualifications
Need knowledge in law, public safety, chemistry, technology and mathematics.
Nature of Career
Forensic Science Technicians make an average of 68,016 yearly in Oregon. Advancement depends on experience and knowledge of forensic testing. Law enforcement agencies have designated levels of promotion.
Reflection
I came to realize that most of the work is done in the lab and involve collecting evidence.
