To become a storyboard artist you have to preferably have a bachelors degree in art, fine arts, illustration, or digital art. Experience from an internship or an entry level position is also preferred. Having a professional portfolio would also help get a job and gain you valuable information in different artwork and project types. Some artists may also need to have advanced skill in using art programs such as photoshop before getting a job offer.
The average pay for storyboard artists is $44,000 per year. The top 10% earn about $99,000per year. The bottom 10% earn about $32,000per year. The middle 50% earn $43,000-77,000 per year.

A daily responsibility for storyboard artists is drafting screenplays. These are used to help the director clarify a vision for a project.
