Auto Mechanics

  • AutoMobile Technician
  • Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, replacing parts and components, and repairing body damage.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and do maintenance of automotive equipment
  • performing inspections, diagnostic testing of vehicles, and replacement of worn parts

Educational Requirements

  • Workers should earn a post secondary award such as a certificate or a associate's degree.
  • Also after completing a 2-year program it can still take nearly five years to become fully qualified and you must update your skills as automobiles are always changing and certification is strongly preferred.

  • They must be ready to perform job functions such as rescuing people or animals from burning or collapsed buildings
  • They do duties ranging from saving lives to keeping firefighting equipment clean
