HISTORY BACKGROUND
>this career has been a relevant profession in the U.S for thousands of years.
>law enforcement in accent China was carried out by "prefects" for thousands of years since it developed in both the Chu and akin kingdoms of the spring and autumn period. The new institution was not a response to an increase in crime, and it really didn't lead to new methods for dealing with crime. The most common way for authorities to solve a crime, before and since the invention of police has been for someone to tell them who did it.

IMPORTANT PEOPLE
Eugene Biscailuz: he was the 27th sheriff of Los Angeles county in 1932, Biscailuz was important is a variety of revolutionary changes in California law enforcement that where effective around the nation.

Theodore Rosevelt: he was not only the 26th president of the U.S, he was also the president of the New York City Police Commissioners from 1895-1897

REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN THIS CAREER
> level of education: high school diploma or GED at minimum. So agencies require a bachelors degree or minimum member of college credit hours.
> colleges that offer this program: Baker, Oakland Universiry, Michigan State, GVSU, University of Detroit Mercy, Ferris state

> related careers: probation officers, firefighters, detectives/ investigators, emergency dispatcher, conservation officers
> skills and personality needed: confidence and responsibility, ability to react quickly, resilience, ability to remain calm, strong communication skills, and good physical fitness

JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION
> duties: answers calls and complaints, escorts prisoners to and from court, keeps the community safe, enforces laws, arrests individuals suspected of committing crime.
> depending on the officer, that determines how many hours they work, some may work around 12 hours a day.
>what they wear: their police uniform
>who they work with: other officers, sheriffs, state troopers and the government
> salary: $52,810 as of May 2008
>benifits: they get benifits, retirement packages, insurance coverage options

JOB REFLECTION AND OUTLOOK
> this career might be challenging because cops put their lives in danger,and they also have to be fit to chase people, it is a very nerve racking job.
> the demand for police services grows as population grows.
> this career has a major benefit for the community.

CONCLUSION
> this career is important because law enforcement is a major part of everyone's lives and these are the people that protect us.
> I do not this this job would be good for me because it is not really something I am interested in and I couldn't see myself being a police officer.
