Canavan disease is a type of brain disorder.

Other names that are called Canavan disease are spongy degeneration of the brain : Aspartoacylose deficiency

Canavan disease is inherited

It's a recessive pattern, nerve fibers without this protective covering malfunction and die

A group of inherited neurological disorders that affect the growth of the myelin sheath

AFFECTS OF HAVING CANAVANS DISEASE

• Lack of head control
• Loss of vision
• Seizures

Anyone can get caravans disease, it is most common in Ashkenazi Jewish heritage

Death accuses before age 10 some children may survive into their teen and twenties yes there is medication for this disease but it may not help
