PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1.
CAMELS
Mr. Mac's early world history
2.
HOW COMMON IS THIS ANIMAL IN OUR SOCIETY AND WHY?
It might not survive the climate, unless in a zoo.
But if it was in, say, Africa it could survive quite comfortably.
So, no I don't think it would survive in michigan.
3.
WHAT ROLE DID A CAMEL PLAY? AND HOW WAS IT UTILIZED?
It could be a mode of transportation or could lift very heavy things.
It could also be agreat animal for farming, but the nomads, weren't agrarian.
It could provide milk, meat, and a way of getting around.
4.
WHAT QUALITIES WE USE TO DESCRIBE A CAMEL.
They are big and gentle, and very playful.
They also have their famous humps. The himps do not contain water, just fat.
Bery good at surviving with very little water, sometimes up to a month!
They have a very unique quality, that is their hump! One of the only animals that have a hump!
5.
DO YOU THINK THE USE OF THIS ANIMAL HAS CHANGED THROUGH HISTORY?
Maybe a little because I have have seen national geographics about camels
And they also have been used by people travelljng across deserts even to this day.
So yes maybe a little but for the most part, no.
6.
WHY MIGHT THIS ANIMAL BE USEFUL TO A NOMADIC PASTORALIST?
They can carry very heavy things, and can survive for a long time without water.
It could provide a lot of meat and milk and hides and wool if killed.
And they can be ridden!
