Who discovered californium?
It was discovered by Stanley Thompson, Kenneth Street, Albert Ghiorso and Glenn Seaborg whom were working at the university of California in Berkeley they had combined curium-242(some element) with alpha particles in the 60-inch cyclotron(accelerator for atoms) making a nuclear reaction that created the element californium and a neutron.

WHERE WAS THE ELEMENT DISCOVERED?
The element was discovered in that same university that those scientists worked in.
Berkeley, California, u.s

When was the element discovered?
In the year
1950

What is the element used for?
Like mentioned before because it was produced in nuclear reactors it has a variety of uses such as
-neutron emitter (start up for neutrons)
- been used as a target material for producing transcalifornium element
-used in to treat cervical cancer
-used to analyze the sulfur content of petroleum
-used to analyze neutron moisture gauges to measure the moisture content of soil.
