PRESENTATION OUTLINE

MASS NUMBER

The total number of protons and neutrons in an atomic nucleus.

ATOMIC NUMBER

The number of protons and the total positive charge, in the atomic nucleus.

PROTONS

A subatomic particle with a positive electric charge and mass slightly less than that of a neutron.

NEUTRONS

A particle of the same mass as a proton.

ELECTRONS

A subatomic particle with a negative electric charge.
