Doors

  • Mon - Thurs 8-4
  • Friday 8-2:15
  • You're responsible for students you let in. Unless you escort the kid and drop them with a teacher, leave them outside.
  • Clubs/Teams students are monitored until pickup - late parents thoughts?

Supervision

  • 1.0 staff = up to 6 blocks of time T1+T2
  • .5 = 1 a week
  • Email me your preference asap.
  • See me if you’re uncertain of the responsibilities

Field Trips

  • Field Trip Preliminary Form to Nancy, appropriate form returned to be filled out. It takes about a month for a typical trip to be approved.
  • Tuesdays during block four Dani looks at finances, I look at policy requirements.
  • You need a cell phone for off campus trips. Take the school’s if needed (not students’)
  • First aid kit sign out from the LC
  • New forms - out of province overnight, in province overnight, OE
  • Conflicts - see office calendar

Drills

  • Most drills are unknown
  • Let Nancy know about trips and guest speakers.

Crisis Management Folder
Take it with you during drills and actual emergencies.

It details various procedures and has your class lists.

It also IDs students with life threatening allergies or conditions.

Fire Drill

  • Bell sounds
  • Collect kids - lock up, sweep?
  • Bring your Emerg Folder and meet at evac spot.
  • Attendance (green/red card)

LOCK DOWNS

  • Intercom “Lock down, Lock Down, Lock Down”
  • Anyone can call it - dial 555 on your class phone.
  • Floor, quiet, phones off.
  • Wait
  • Lock down kits - replenish?

  • Watches = attentive
  • Warnings = procedures kick off

What to look for

  • Interior walls
  • No windows
  • No large rooms (gym)
  • Lowest floor possible
  • Stairwell okay
  • Mull over your spot today, if you haven’t found one.
