PRESENTATION OUTLINE

R is for River. The police and mechanical hound start a chase to find and kill Montag. Montag goes to Faber for advice and he tells him to float down the river to the railroad and follow the railroad to the country to find the old professors who are now hobos. Also, Montag submerges himself in the river in order to get his scent off, much like a baptism.

S is for Suicide. Beatty forces Montag to burn his house down because he was hiding books. As Montag starts to leave under Faber's command, Beatty hits him in the head knocking the green bullet out. He threatens to find Faber and do the same as he did to Montag, which made Montag become very defensive wanting to kill him. Beatty encourages Montag to use the flamethrower to kill him because he already wanted to die, showing the act of Beatty's suicide.
