Purpose of The Prodigal Son

  • To teach followers the value of forgiveness
  • The father representing the lord shows kindness and compassion for his followers
The youngest son is a follower of the lord who has left the church, and his older brother is an unloyal follower in the church. These are two types of followers who have denied the lord their father in their hearts. The lords ability to accept them and love them as they are shows his compassion, love, and forgiveness. Even to those that have betrayed him.
