Brooklyn Nichols

• Recently got married last November (still working on name change)
• First year Special Education teacher
• Started in resource, now in self-contained
• Has been an adjustment
• Work in ISD, right outside KCMO

Graduated from UCM with my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Special Education. Currently completed 9/33 credits towards Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Chose ESU because of the accelerated option and affordability.

As an Educator

• High school and club volleyball coach, teaching and exersizing competitive side
• Strengths: Love building relationships with students and families
• Challenges: getting overwhelmed with all the lesson and activity possibilities and not having time for them all!

Technology

• Technology is changing so fast
• Plays a HUGE role in IEP writing
• ISD relies heavily on technology. Each classroom has Chromebooks, however, they seem to be stepping back from the amount of screen time
• I hope to learn how to narrow my searches and find reliable resources faster
• Excited to learn more!
