EVERYDAY USE

  • Used industrially because it is sturdy and durable when well cared for.
  • Ex. Bearings, gears, pipes, valves, and other plumbing fittings
  • It is ideal for machinery because it causes minimal friction.
  • It can also be used at home in jewelry, medals, decor, or statuary.

INTERESTING FACTS

  • Originally bronze was made of arsenic and copper.
  • Later tin was used to make a stronger, easier to cast, and non-toxic version.
  • Bronze is harder than copper.
  • Bells are often made of bronze because of it's quality when struck.
  • The concentration of copper and tin varies with application.
