BRIDE OF CHRIST

• The church is the image of the bride of Christ
• Saint Paul says that Christ is the head of his body
• In the same way the husband is the head of his wife

When Adam first saw Eve he said "this at last is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh."
To Adam, Eve is both his bride and part of himself.

The marriage of Adam and Eve took along side the covenant of creation. This original union is restored and perfected in Christ. Christ reunites man kind to God through his church and together they form one flesh.
