What is a brick wall used for ?
It is used to study vocabulary words.
HOW TO USE A BRICK WALL
- You pick a subject you want to study
- In the box above, you write the word and definitions you will use
- Then you fill out the brick wall
- Once you filled it out, time yourself for one minute, do this three times a night
- Then in the box that says first, second, third .... Fill out how many boxes you finished reading
HOW TO FILL OUT A BRICK WALL
- Find a subject you want to study
- In the blank box above the wall fill out the words and definition you will use
- In the wall the box that says word one you take the first word and write it their
- In the box that says one definition you take the definition of the first word and write it out
- Then once it is all filled out you time yourself for one minute in the box above write how many boxes you got
WHEN TO USE IT
- Once you get the vocab for test/quiz fill out the brick wall
- Study from the time you make your wall to the night before the test
- You can study at home, in the car, on the bus, or even at school
You will know if the brick wall did its job when you go through it and you read the word and know the definition off the top of your head .
I feel that the brick wall is an effective way of studying for an exam because it doesn't feel like you are taking in a lot of information.
