In April 1992, the government of the Yugoslav republic of Bosnia Herzegovina declared it's independence from Yugoslavia.
Bosnian Serb forces, with the backing of the Serb-dominated Yugoslav army, targeted both Bosnian
Over 200,000 people died and 2.2 million people were forced to flee their homes because of this genocide.
The Serbs kind of succeeded by driving Bosnian Muslims and Croatian civilians away. They are now separate countries.
