The Bosnian Genocide began with Bosnia's secession from Yugoslavia in 1 990 & ended with the 1995 peace agreement.

The term Bosnian Genocide refers to either genocide at Srebrenica and žepa committed by Bosnian Serb forces in 1995 or the ethnic cleansing campaign throughout areas controlled by the Army of the Republika Srpska that took place during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War.

Events Leading Up:

• 1918- Ethnic tension between Eastern Orthodox and other ethnic groups.
•1945- Marshal Tito took power and gave voice to all ethnic groups.
•1980- Tito died.

Events Of Genocide

•1992- fighting spills into Bosnia.
•Molosevics attempt to expel Muslim and Croats from Serb areas- used torture, gang rape, concentration, camps, and massacres. Called it ethnic cleaning.
